Hope you had a cosy and happy festive season filled with love, joy and togetherness. May I express my gratitude to you for supporting positive education and being willing to make the world a better place?
At the end of the year, we tend to reflect on the past twelve months and if I have to use one word to describe my 2019, then it has to be “transformational”. Running my first workshop at EdYOUfest and sharing my ideas on using mindfulness tools in the English classroom has definitely been my most significant highlight of the year. I have always encouraged my students to step out of their comfort zone but it took me a lot of courage to make this step…and when I did…the feeling was exhilarating. So if you are still contemplating doing what your soul gently whispers to you, then I can certainly recommend taking the leap.
Now at the threshold of a new decade may I dare you to dream big and always follow your heart? I really hope you will get the chance to have lots of quiet moments because it is in those instants of stillness when we can find what stirs our soul. I always teach my students to live mindfully and engage all their senses daily. Being aware of how busy they are, I have been boldly using my visualisations with them. I make sure that every mindful lesson plan that I create helps them learn English but also gives them the experience to hear, see, feel, smell and taste something new. The more empowered my students feel, the more inspired I become in order to create more transformational educational resources. I have seen my students create amazing poems and stories after meditating or design wonderful projects after visualising. At such moments I feel extremely proud of them and also in total awe because of the powerful use of the English language.
Traditionally I create a calendar for the new year and this time I have designed one in which each month is dedicated to a theme. Hope the motivational quotes will inspire you to be more reflective and embark on new personal adventures.
You can download the calendar here.
At the beginning of each year, I always plan a special lesson with my students when they reassess the previous year and set their new goals. In my FREE PRINTABLES page you can find the worksheets for kids and teens/adults.
Last but not least, I am a big believer in vision boards. I have introduced the idea to most of my students and they have had the chance to create their own. You can find out more about this powerful manifesting tool and download a template here.
